NEW Merc Brim Biter®

from $40.00

"Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication,” as Leonardo da Vinci himself might have said.

Every innovation starts — and sometimes fulfills — with a simple idea.

Simple yet undeniably innovative, the Merc Brim Biter® transforms an iconic piece of true Americana into a stylishly understated accessory of artistic fashion.

The Mercury dime is a vintage American coin from the early 20th century, minted between 1916 and 1945. Like many American coins produced before 1965, these dimes are made of 90% silver.

Each Merc Brim Biter® is handmade using a proprietary bending method that creates a clip that “bites” the brim of the hat and stays put. I actually had to build my own set of custom tools to achieve this specific configuration.

Please select your preferred choice from the following options:

High-Polish w/ Horizontal Bend

High-Polish w/ Vertical Bend

Original Matte Finish w/ Horizontal Bend

Original Matte Finish w/ Vertical Bend

18K Gold Vermeil (Plate) w/ Horizontal Bend

18 karat gold Vermeil (Plate) w/ Vertical Bend

Fun Fact #1: The Mercury dime got its name because Liberty, shown with a winged cap, resembles the Roman god Mercury with his winged helmet. However, the coin actually represents Liberty, not Mercury.

Fun Fact #2: It’s rude to copy the original ideas of artists just to make a quick buck. You have it in you to be original! Don’t be a #2.
